At Adaptive Financial Consulting we often implement financial trading exchanges and order management systems for our clients. Financial applications used in trading must be reliable, and sometimes also highly performing. We use replicated state machines and raft (a distributed consensus algorithm) to implement them. In this session we will explain how Raft algorithm works and demo a resilient and highly performant cluster of single threaded nodes using our open source framework Aeron.
